– What is Revolut?
     Revolut offers banking services including GBP and EUR bank accounts, debit cards, fee-free currency exchange, stock trading, cryptocurrency exchange and peer-to-peer payments.Revolut’s mobile app supports spending and ATM withdrawals in 120 currencies and transfers in 29 currencies directly from the app. Payments at weekends incur an extra fee of 0.5% to 2% protecting them against exchange rate fluctuations.
It also provides customers access to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and XRP by exchanging with 25 fiat currencies. A fee of 1.5% for buying or selling applies. Crypto cannot be deposited or spent, only converted back to fiat inside Revolut. Additionally, Revolut banks with Metropolitan Commercial Bank of New York do not allow the transfer of Fiat money to or from cryptocurrency exchanges.
It provides an equities trading facility, with access to a range of US stocks and fractional share purchase/sale. Stocks purchased in the app cannot be transferred to another broker, but must be sold/converted back to cash, which can then be withdrawn.
– What do I think about it?
     I started using Revolut almost a year ago as a way to invest in stocks, but now it is my main banking service. Everything is easy and with all the features and benefits available with the different plans makes it a must for those who are not afraid to try new things.
– What do I need to sign up for?
     Opening a new account literally takes a few minutes and all you need is a trusted phone and internet connection. Using my referral link, you will be redirected to the Revolut Website where you are required to enter a phone number and download the app. After entering a 6-digits code you will be asked to fill in the following information – your name, mailing address, email, and SSN or ITIN (Note: this is required by law to verify identity). Once you’ve entered these details, review and agree to the Cardholder Agreement and that’s it.
