How to install Template Kits in WordPress?
What is Template Kit ?
The Template Kit is a collection of pre-designed starter templates for a WordPress Site Builder that look professional and are built for Elementor there for it makes the Website building easier.
What are the benefits?
There are plenty of benefits to using a Template Kit, but here are my favorites:
- Â Creating a website is super fast and the results look professional.
- Â With the Template Kit you get to pick from the tones of professionally designed templates.
- Â No code knowledge required, but you still have control over everything.
Where can I get template kits?
As you can guess from the title Envato Template Kits can be found in the official website of EnvatoElements. If you can’t find what you are looking for a quick google search will provide you with more websites, but I never had to look elsewhere for something I need due to the wise variety of things on the official website.
How to install Envato Elements Template Kits in WordPress?
To get to the installation tab, you need to go to your WordPress Dashboard and find the Elementor tab inside the left side menu. When you click on it a list of things will appear and you will have to click the Tools option which will get you to a new page where you can find the Import/Export Kit tab.
This window provides you with two options – Export your existing website or parts of it or Import the new design that you just downloaded, but since this is a tutorial about how to Import Template we will look at that option.
When you select the Import option by clicking Start Import this window will pop up:
The little message ironically named Important will advise you to Back up your website before you do import the kit and since I missed this step the 1st time I used it and felt the consequences I’ll highly advise you IMPORTANT: BACKUP YOUR SITE BEFORE IMPORTING THE KIT! Â
There are many plugins out there that are free or paid for that provide a backup option. I personally use the UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin.
Me saying what plugin I’m using is by no means a recommendation for what you should be using. If you are interested in the subject, what are the top plugins for backup, make sure you let me know so I can write an article about it. Â
Once you are done with the process, we can continue with the importing. Make sure to read carefully what each checkbox includes so you will not have to go through the hustle of restoring your backup if something goes wrong.
Installing it will instantly replace everything listed. This usually takes a few moments and you should not be closing the window until the process is done.
Note: To use this feature, activate the Import / Export Kit experiment via Elementor > Settings > Experiments. Once you activate the new Import/Export Kit functionality experiment, you will be able to find the options located in Elementor > Tools > Import Export Kit.
Important: In order for this feature to work, please contact your Host to make sure ZipArchive is enabled. You may verify this by navigating to Elementor > System Info and locating the following information.
